Minimally invasive surgery is much less traumatic than conventional open surgery, as the surgeon only requires very small incisions in the patients body to successfully perform an operation. Isnt this exactly what you would want for you and your family? Please see attached press release for details.

Dallas, TX October 21, 2004 -- Pine Creek Medical Center will become the first hospital in Dallas, TX to acquire state of the art High Definition (HD) medical video technology to assist surgeons in performing the most delicate surgical tasks. These HD video systems will be used in minimally invasive surgeries where the video systems provide visualization of the patients anatomy.

Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) is much less traumatic than conventional open surgery, as the surgeon only requires very small incisions in the patients body to successfully perform an operation. The surgeon uses an endoscope to allow the anatomy and operation to be viewed on a video monitor. MIS results in shorter hospital stays, faster recovery times and reduced procedural costs.

The High Definition will allow the surgeon to more easily identify anatomical structures. Additionally, the High Definition video generates a greater depth of view or a 3-D effect as some surgeons have termed it, which allows the surgeon to perform the delicate instrument maneuvers more naturally and quickly. These features improve the efficiency of the operative team and reduce the operative time, thereby shortening the period that the patient must remain under anesthesia.

Pine Creek Medical Center is committed to providing the community with the highest level of healthcare using state of-the-art medical technology", explained Dr. Corazon Ramirez, Chief Operating Officer. Our new 1088 HD Cameras are an obvious example: advanced medical technology for our patients, which at the same time allows us to increase the productivity of our hospital staff, improve procedural efficiency, and reduce overall operative costs. These benefits are passed on directly to the patient.

Another key design element of the new facility is two Stryker Endosuites. Endosuites are technologically advanced surgical suites that incorporate ergonomic furniture, ceiling-mounted booms and consoles, and the latest surgical tools used for arthroscopic and other video-assisted surgical procedures. The orthopedic surgical suites prove that efficiencies can be achieved when design elements and the appropriate technology are utilized. The surgeon can bring up on-screen views of digital images, scans, and other diagnostic images. Dr. Ramirez says it is also much easier to move about the OR since cables and wires have been taken off the floors and are now held by ceiling-mounted booms. She adds that patient care improves when superior medical expertise, the latest physical facilities, and advanced technology come together.

Pine Creek Medical Center is a private, physician-owned and operated hospital designed to serve more than 3 million people in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and surrounding counties.
